MD Suzanne Lowe looks back on her first 12 months as Chairman of NMPA

The NMPA is an umbrella body of the majority of Civil Mediation Council (CMC) accredited mediation providers in England and Wales. It was formerly the National Mediation Providers Forum which serviced the National Mediation Helpline(NMH).This was axed by the goverment in 2010 allegedly to save less than £64,000 in costs.

In the last 12 months, with Suzanne as the Chairman, the NMPA has developed and now launched a new website service to give the public, businesses and the legal profession access to accredited mediators and information about mediation. Talk Mediation is one of the accredited member providers. 

Suzanne has been involved in numerous meetings to plan, develop and execute the launch of this website. In addtion she has been liasing with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to see a mediation information sheet published on the MoJ website.

“I am delighted that the NMPA has taken the initiative to provide a comprehensive service at such a critical time, when the public need to be able to find more cost effective ways to access justice,” said Suzanne. “Mediation has a huge role to play, and NMPA is leading the way. ”
